For the first time in Australia's history, a collaboration of six industry bodies from both the electricity and gas markets merged to create the Australian Energy Market Operator- AEMO. Focusing on the amalgamation of the energy services, AEMO is attuned to the changing needs of our growing population by involving multiple states, jurisdictions and communities and by delivering an array of gas and electricity market, operational and planning functions.
AEMO consists of the following six founding entities:

Australasian Thermographers Association
ATA is the peak Industry Body for Thermographers in Australiasia established in 2010
ATA is an association for all those involved in Infrared Thermography, created to support and help unite Thermographers. Whether you are a professional Thermographer, or just interested in Infrared imaging, you will find ATA can help through membership and the website.
The Association provides a voice for Thermography to help mould the rapidly developing Infrared field and promote Thermography amongst potential users.
An important aspect of ATA is to develop Codes of Practices for NDT methods in thermal imaging, to help advise and to improve the training and Certification of thermographers against the Syllabuses on offer in Australasia.

EESA is a national society established to advance interests in electric energy. It is a Technical Society of Engineers Australia. The key objective of EESA is to provide a continuous professional development program to members of the Society who have an interest in the field of electric energy. This field encompasses generation, transmission, distribution, retail and customer end-use of electric energy.
Total membership is approaching 850 and there are active chapters in NSW, Queensland, South Australian, Tasmania, Victoria and Western Australia.
The Energy Supply Association of Australia (esaa) seeks to positively influence government policy decisions to ensure that Australia enjoys the benefits of a safe, secure, reliable, sustainable and competitively priced electricity and natural gas supply.
esaa is a CEO lead industry body representing the stationary energy sector in Australia an industry with more than $120 billion in generation, transmission and distribution assets. esaa members include government owned corporations and private companies who retail, generate or supply electricity and natural gas to consumers in Australia.
The Association is fuel and technology neutral and member businesses have investments across a wide range of fossil fuel and renewable generation technologies.
The Energy Networks Association (ENA) is the peak national body representing gas and electricity distribution businesses throughout Australia. All of Australia's electricity and gas network companies are members of ENA, providing governments, policy-makers and the community with a single point of reference for major energy network issues.
The EPIC Industry Training Board is a not-for-profit industry led incorporated association serving and working in partnership with Victoria's Electrotechnology, Printing and Information Technology & Telecommunications industries.
The EPIC ITB, through its industry-led Board acts as a conduit for industry between Government, Government agencies and other key training stakeholders including RTOs. The EPIC ITB identifies the needs of industry; informs and influences policy developers and funding bodies and ensures that industry is well informed of the benefits of participation in the national VET system.
The EPIC ITB facilitates the industry's access to the VET sector and ensures the sector is aware of the industry's skill development needs.
The National Electrical and Communications Association (NECA) is the national voice of the electrotechnology contracting industry. NECA is the only association that represents the interests of electrical and communications contractors Australia-wide, from employers and business people to technicians.
NECA's services are tailored to the unique needs of contractors working in the electrotechnology industry. We save members time and money by providing timely information, advice and practical tools to make business easier, safer and more cost-effective.
With offices in every state, NECA employs specialists in industrial relations, occupational health and safety, management, education and training, human resources and technology who are on-hand to offer advice on a range of topics and provide representation and support in industrial relations matters. It has representatives on 37 Standards Australia technical committees. NECA is also a registered organisation in federal and state industrial jurisdictions.
NESMA is the body that represents member interests in the Electrical Switchboard Manufacturing industry throughout Australia.
Formed to advance the Art & Science of Low Voltage Switchboard Design and Manufacturing in Australia.
